Dimensions Donates 40 Pairs of Shoes to Support Children in Need
Posted on 13 August, 2025

Starting school is a big moment for any child, but for many families living in poverty, even the basics can feel out of reach. Something as simple as a pair of school shoes can make all the difference, allowing children to walk into the classroom with comfort, dignity, and confidence.
That’s why Dimensions was proud to donate 40 pairs of high-quality black leather loafer-style shoes to 52 Lives, a charity dedicated to changing lives through kindness. These shoes will help ensure that girls who might otherwise start school without properly fitting footwear can step into the year ready to learn.
The idea came to Dimensions through an appeal at Bromsgrove School, where pupils were encouraged to donate useful items to support other children in need. It was here that a pupil shared the 52 Lives campaign, sparking our involvement.
Polly Samra, Senior Account Manager at Dimensions, who coordinated the donation with pupil Freya, said:
“We all know how important the right school shoes are, not just for comfort, but for confidence. If our donation means even one child can walk into school feeling proud and prepared, it’s worth every step.”
About 52 Lives
52 Lives changes someone’s life every week of the year, with a mission to inspire kindness and create a ripple effect of positive change. Through its School of Kindness programme, the charity works with thousands of children annually, helping them realise that their everyday choices can have the power to change the world, and improve their own physical and mental health at the same time.
Jaime Thurston, CEO and Founder of 52 Lives, said:
“Kindness isn’t just about meeting a need; it’s about showing someone they matter. These shoes will help girls start school with comfort and dignity, but they’ll also carry a message - that someone cared enough to make sure they could start the year on equal footing with their classmates.”
Dimensions is proud to have played a small part in the life-changing work of 52 Lives, proving that even the simplest acts of generosity can have a big impact.
