How long have you been working for Dimensions?
It was six years in March this year!
What does a typical day look like for you?
Well it is usually an early start, checking emails and communicating with Asian Suppliers, then meetings tend to take up a large proportion of my day. As we are a global business the afternoon can be taken up with conference calls with our colleagues in the USA.
Which departments do you work closest with?
I work closely with the Supply Chain and Account Management Teams.
Is there a time of year that is busiest for you?
As we are not a seasonal business it is generally busy all year round
What do you enjoy most about your job role?
The variation of the role and the people that I work with, we are often under pressure to deliver to tender deadlines but the department work well together to deliver.
How would you describe yourself/your team in 3 words?
Meticulous, Balanced, Compassionate.
What makes Dimensions so successful in regards to your team?
The team has a really good buzz about it, we have a good balance of experience and enthusiasm.
What has been the highlight of your career at Dimensions so far?
I can think of a few, but the one that stands out is last year’s cost efficiency drive which allowed us to remain competitive but also reduce our carbon footprint, the two don’t often go hand-in-hand.
What advice would you give to someone looking to start a career in Sourcing?
Don’t be afraid to challenge anything or anyone, never accept the first response.
