Business Analyst/Project Manager - Hybrid Role

Job Description:

We are looking to recruit a Hybrid Business Analyst/Project Manager role to join us on a permanent basis.

Working within the IT Shared Service function of MWUK, this role can have two responsibilities (which may apply
independently or together, depending on the needs of the function at any
particular time)

1. In the Project Manager role, you will deliver IT projects on time, on budget and at the right level of quality. As a member of the virtual PM team you will contribute to process and procedure definition. The role may require interaction with 3rd parties to maximise their contribution to successful project delivery.

2. In the Business Analyst role, you will play a pivotal part in a) understanding, scoping and delivering a number of elements within major projects, b) defining and managing smaller system enhancement requests, and c) supporting development of business-wide processes.

In both aspects of the role, you will be a critical interface between IT and specific business functions / brands.

Key Responsibilities

In the Business Analyst role:

o Identify and clearly define the business problem.

o Be able to express the context of any change within the business strategy and existing IT change programmes.

o Elicit, validate and consolidate the high level business requirements, including any significant business rules that will influence the business
solution design.

o Analyse business processes; identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility and recommend new approaches.

o Analyse, validate and communicate the requirements using appropriate documentation and modelling techniques.

o Collect and validate the non-functional requirements.

o Actively support the business when undertaking User Acceptance Testing.

o Write support documentation and quick reference guides

o Provide end user training when required.

In the Project Manager role:

o Create and manage project plans in alignment with the IT Steering Group.

o Ensure all major project activities are prioritised and approved.

o Management of budgets for both individual projects.

o Ensure appropriate governance structures are in place for each project.

o Scope projects and gain buy in from senior executives.

o Produce a robust business case for each project.

o Ensure challenging but realistic project plans are in place for each project.

o Ensure risks are identified and managed to avoid impact.

o Ensure accurate and timely project reporting.

o Support the sponsor to ensure the project benefits are delivered in line with the business case.

o Manage any 3rd parties to maximise their contribution to projects and minimise their costs.

We are looking for an individual with a background and experience across both Project Management and Business analysis; you will have formal project management methodology experience and a relevant qualification would be a benefit.

Of course, you will have excellent analytical skills and a natural flair for problem
solving. You will have experience of gathering and documenting high quality business requirements. This includes interacting with business stakeholders through workshops, interviews, meetings and written communication

It would be an advantage if you have supplier management experience too and proven experience of delivering IT Projects in a complex environment.
