Virgin Trains unveiled their brand new body-neutral staff uniform range. Employees across the East Coast line can now choose between a variety of options which are designed to be inclusive to all genders and celebrate the human form.

Designed by fashion designers Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway MBE and manufactured by Dimensions, the two year project offers a total of twenty five options for all employees. There are ten female options and five male options on the East Coast line and the range have been designed to be interchangeable between genders.

The old Virgin Trains uniforms are not going to landfill, instead they will receive a new lease of life at HMP Northumberland. The old garments will be upcycled in the onsite textile factory into blankets and coats to be donated to The Albert Kennedy Trust which supports young LGBT homeless people in times of crisis.

Jessica Kelly-Mckay, Uniform Delivery Manager of Virgin Trains East Coast, said in a statement to the press: ‘We want our people to be able to express their own unique style and personality, and that’s why we’ve worked with them to create a new tailored wardrobe to fit every shape, size and gender.’
